Memorial service
Every year we hold a parish service of prayer and thanksgiving for those who have died.
This year’s service will be on Sunday 1 November, 3.00pm at St Margaret’s, Downham.
During the service we will read out the names of those for whom we have conducted funerals in the past 12 months or so, as well as other loved ones you have asked us to include.
There is a list at the back of each church in the parish on which you are invited to put their names or you can email names to us (before Friday 30 October, please). There will also be an opportunity for you to light a candle in memory of your loved ones if you wish.
Public meeting
St Mary’s church has been closed since April this year following the collapse of a section of the ceiling, and, as the congregation is very small, and the cost of repairs could range from around £100,000 to around £250,000, we are inviting members of the wider community to attend a public meeting about the future of the church on Thursday 19 November at 7.30pm in Ramsden Bellhouse Village Hall.
